Hello and welcome to the UK Hobby Horse Association
Our aim is to make Hobby Horsing accessible & enjoyable for everyone. Through engaging events & friendly hobby horse competitions, enthusiasts of all ages come together to share their passion for hobby horses and showcase their skills.
Who We Are
Founded by two equestrian mums, Lisa, a BHS instructor & Stephanie, who has supported her children through pony club & BSPS, have combined their wealth of knowledge to provide Hobby Horse events. After years of watching their own children spend hours setting up jumps around the lorries at shows,
We wanted to start a Hobby Horse community, Creating fun events for people to compete at and enjoy a similar experience to competing on a real horse. It’s amazing how many children of any age can enjoy this sport, and we are passionate about providing this around the UK.
Our Mission
At the UK Hobby Horse Association, we aim to make hobby horsing accessible to everyone. Our events are more than just competitions; they celebrate creativity, an exercise in sportsmanship, and, most of all, a lot of fun.
What We Do
We host Hobby Horse competitions around the UK.
Our events include:
Showjumping: All our show jumping classes are run over 8 fences, with 4 jumps gaining a style mark and 4 jumps in a timed section. The scores are added together for the final result. If there was a tie for placings, the highest style mark would take precedence.
Freestyle Dressage Routines: Participants perform a series of choreographed movements and routines with their hobby horses. Judges evaluate precision, control, and the ability to replicate real equestrian movements.
Arena Eventing: A mixture of show jumping & mini cross-country style fences.
And it all culminates in our annual UK Hobby Horse Championships, where the best of the best strut their stuff in search of glory.
